Inside Nursery-B

Update for December 21, 2018

Since school started in September, the students have learned how to interact with their classmates as well as understand the classroom’s rules. We are still working on identifying and sounding out a few letters of the alphabet. We are still discovering shapes, colors and numbers. The students in nursery enjoy exploring the classroom to identify different items made with different shapes such as square windows and rectangular doors.

October was a “spooktacular” month because the students were excited about Halloween. We made pumpkins, bats, witches and black cats. We also collected milk jugs and made our own Halloween buckets for our annual Trunk-O-Treat celebrations.

In November nursery students learned about different kinds of transportation. For example, the students made their own planes by using popsicle sticks. During circle time we discussed transportation and how everyone gets to school. In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving and how grateful we are for our families. We joined our school in celebrating Thanksgiving with a wonderful dinner filled with prayers, friends, family, and food!

For the month of December the students are getting ready to celebrate Christmas and the birth of the baby Jesus. We read the “Story of Christmas,” “The Tiny Christmas Elf,” and we are learning about the letters E,C,S. We made candy canes, Santa, elves, and stockings that are displayed on our bulletin board. We are also working on building our own Santa’s Workshop in the hallway. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
